May this song bless you…turn it up loud and soak in the truth…
... birthing them was the easy part!
As we approach Labor Day and the long weekend, I must confess each year when I hear the term Labor Day I think of a whole other kind of labor. As a result this weekend reminds me of the gift of my children and the blessing it is to be a mom!
Which then leads me to remember what a Happy Day that was.
Which then makes me want to dance.
Which then makes me want to sing.
Which then makes me think of the happiest day of my life.
Which then makes me find this video on You Tube.
Which then makes me want to ask you to STOP EVERYTHING and soak up this song! (And it must be this version – the original vocalist!)
Do you take time to just “go fishin” with your children?
Or… color, build blocks, dance, play cars, paint nails, bake goodies, take walks, pick flowers, play games…
Today is a day filled with History. A history of freedom in this “sea to shining sea” land I am grateful for…but on the 4th of July I think of the individual lives who make up our history of freedom.
I think of the American Soldier…thank you and God bless you and yours.
The news in Japan continues to leave my heart heavy.
There is only one thing I know to do…pray for the people of Japan and turn my eyes upon Jesus.
OK, I can now share why I have been silent for over a week…we were on the FamilyLife Love Like You Mean It Cruise!!! Can I just say…AWESOME!
I will tell you all about it in the days to come, I am currently buried under a pile of laundry, a soon due Science Fair project that I must wrangle my son to do, some deadlines on graduation stuff for my daughter…and oh yeah, I’m scheduled to speak at the GIANT Homeschool Convention in Memphis next week…cha yeah, I have a few little things to do.
Today, I thought you would enjoy hearing the beatific voices from Point of Grace, I got to know these ladies on the cruise and they are super fun moms – who sing like I think I can.
Just go to the link above and learn all about them!
OK – so you gotta admit last night’s Super Bowl half time show was quite entertaining! I literally jumped up off the couch and started dancing. Oh yeah, you are sorry you missed that huh? {maybe not}
Several years ago when the Black Eyes Peas released their song, Where Is The Love? my kids and I wore the heck out of it! We still have the entire song memorized and have always enjoyed playing it very loudly and singing along!
I realize the Black Eyed Peas may be far from role models, but this song shares a good message – which is something teens need to hear more in pop music. That makes me a fan of the song – I hope you enjoy listening!
And hey – I posted a version with the words on the screen because unless you have listened to it 1,792 times (like I have) you might not catch all the words being thrown at you!
Be The Mom with enthusiasm while pursuing J.O.Y. and it will rub off on your children! It's not always easy...but it is worth it! You go girl!
